Worship is the greatest privilege life can offer. When we worship we come into the presence of the God who made us and loves us. We join the angels in praising the God who is worthy of all the worship we can bring.
We come to God in worship because he invites us to come, and has made our worship possible through the death of his Son for us on the Cross.
Worship in the power of the Holy Spirit is a fulfilling and transforming experience, where we become fully human, and are strengthened by the Spirit to serve God in the world he has made.
We hope and pray that all our worship activities at St Michael's match this pattern.
All are welcome at any of our services. Our standard worship pattern is:
Sundays
8:00am - a quiet, reflective service of Holy Communion (no hymns) using the familiar and time-honoured words of the Book of Common Prayer
9:30am - our main morning service, using contemporary forms of service. Usually Holy Communion, music at this service is provided by our organ and choir, and also by our group of instrumentalists.
Our Sunday School meets during this service, unless it is the second Sunday of the month, when our service is an All-Age Service, when the whole Church family stays together for the service.
6:30pm - on the first and third Sundays of the month, there is another opportunity for quiet reflection at our service of Evensong (said, and usually with hymns).
Special Occasions
On special occasions our worship pattern may change - please look out for details, or contact the Team Office.
Midweek
There are regular times of Morning Prayer (sometimes with Holy Communion) in St Michael's during the week at either 8:00 or 8:30am. Please ask for details. Also:

Friday at 10:30 - Holy Communion (BCP), again in St Katherine's Chapel

Praise the LORD, my soul!
All my being, praise his holy name!
Praise the LORD, my soul,
and do not forget how kind he is.
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
He keeps me from the grave,
and blesses me with love and mercy.
He fills my life with good things,
so that I stay young and strong like an eagle.
